Meet the Stars of Our Coloring Book!
-
Delphie
Delphie is our largest llama, and despite having limb issues that cause her back half to sit higher than her front, her spirit and happiness remain undimmed. When she arrived, she was in desperate need of TLC, and since then, she’s been receiving the best care and attention.
-
Daisy
Daisy is a gentle giant now, though she was a much smaller ewe when she first arrived with her mom and sister after being rescued from an auction. While she can be a bit standoffish, she is curious and kind-hearted, often found lounging under the trees with her flock.
-
Lucky
Lucky is our smallest male goat. He came to us after his previous owner was unable to rehabilitate his broken leg. With lots of TLC and care here at the sanctuary, he healed beautifully. While his leg still has a slight curve, it doesn’t slow him down one bit.
-
Ruth
We welcomed Ruth the turkey after she tragically lost her flock mate in a cougar attack, leaving her to live as a solo turkey. Now, she happily thrives in the company of a whole new flock!
-
Carol and Curly
Carol and Curly, a deeply bonded mother-daughter duo, joined us as part of a large herd intake case. The entire herd required extensive medical care to regain their health, but with time and attention, they recovered beautifully. Since then, Carol and Curly have been thriving together.
-
Louie
Louie came to us as part of a litter intake after his previous owner became overwhelmed with their care. The litter had been surviving on hot dogs and other snack foods, desperately needing a healthier environment. Louie is adventurous and independent and enjoying life here at our sanctuary.
-
Joe
Joe the duck came to us from a loving home where his owners, sadly, could no longer care for him due to a move. He’s a mellow, laid-back duck who has quickly made himself at home here.
-
Stacey
Stacey came to us from a backyard hoarding situation. When she arrived, she was underweight, and her feathers were in poor condition. After recovering here, she now spends her days happily socializing with her flock mates.
-
Rocky
Rocky is one of three pig brothers living here at the sanctuary. He was originally part of a litter destined for a 4-H market, but we welcomed him into our care. Now, Rocky can enjoy life without fear of a grim fate.
-
Opal and Skeeter
Opal and Skeeter were our very first llamas, and they showed us just how incredible llamas truly are. They spent seven wonderful years with us before passing from old age. They are included here because we consider them the beloved matriarchs of our sanctuary and will always cherish the time we shared with them.
-
Panda
Panda represents the very first alpacas we welcomed to the sanctuary back in 2017. She was part of a herd of 22, marking our initial experience in caring for alpacas. Fast forward to today, and alpacas have become our specialty-all thanks to that transformative first herd.
